Seeds of Compassion, Volunteer Director

Leader in developing a five-day event with global dignitaries including His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Events including intimate private audiences, 60 community workshops, and large-scale rally in Qwest Stadium.

Throughout the event, my team filed more than 1,000 volunteer positions with more than 150,000 attendees over the five days.

Senior Services, Soiree 2007 Coordinator

Acted as Soiree Coordinator for Annual Dinner/Auction raising $500,000 to support Meals on Wheels and the Senior Centers of King County.

As the coordinator, I created marketing materials, administered auction database (Maestro), acted as primary contact for donors, and on-site event manager. The auction had 500 guests and included more than 300 items and packages.

SEIU - Service Employees International Union

Developed Strategic volunteer program to maintain momentum after the 2004 Presidential Race for Washington State including online organizing materials, volunteer database structure, and activist field plan.

Conducted union member orientation training with more than 3500 Washington and Pacific NW campaign field leaders.

Kerry/Edwards Victory 04 - John Kerry for President

• Regional Field Director – Philadelphia, PA suburbs

Directed high profile battleground state operation including supervision of more than 50 field organizers and 10 area campaign offices and managed $500,000 budget. Implemented national field plan while adapting issues to regional targets. Result: Met and exceeded more than 90% of the daily and weekly field goals. Maintained the largest regional supporter list in Pennsylvania.

Executed Election Day operation that included more than 2000 active volunteers region-wide. Provided voter assistance, resolved legal issues, and conducted up-to-the-minute field reports.

Supervised and supported advance team in more than 75 events. Result: A major labor rally with more than 15,000 attendees, region-wide volunteer trainings with more than 2500 attendees, and national press coverage.

Dean for America - Howard Dean for President

• Event Advance Team for Presidential Campaign Announcement, Vermont
• Pacific NW Field Director, Washington State
• GOTV regional director, Wisconsin

Developed statewide field strategy to manage 10 regional field staff, 60 legislative district and county coordinators, and 6500 precinct caucuses. Result: The highest caucus turnout in the history of Washington State to date.

Cultivated the third largest state supporter list (more than 35,000 supporters) in the country; and the highest national donations per-capita.

Collaborated with technology team to develop online field strategy: wrote online training manual and state blog, coordinated more than 75 monthly meetups, and supervised online phone banks and organizing databases.

Directed and advanced campaign events including: Governor Dean’s Presidential Announcement and the Sleepless Summer Tour Rally in Seattle – more than 12,000 in attendance.
